Job Description 
In this role, the AMN Emergency Services Flex Team RN will provide professional comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment within a variety of specialty units, settings, and healthcare facilities.  

  • Care for the patients in the dynamic, fast-paced, high-patient turnover environment of the Emergency Department (ED). 
  • In collaboration with the physician, provide and coordinate emergency nursing care for patients through comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of data, assessments, and evaluations of patient outcomes. 
  • Provide inpatient medical, surgical, telemetry, step-down, and ICU levels of care to patients who are admitted to the hospital from the ED and awaiting their inpatient rooms to be assigned.  
  • Complete and document the admission assessment, physical assessment, vital signs, care plans, and patient and family education, per facility standards. 
  • Participate in patient/family teaching, working cooperatively with members of the healthcare team to maintain standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. 
  • Provide an optimal patient care experience by actively listening to the needs of patients and family members and taking responsibility for meeting those identified needs. 

 

This position reports to the nurse manager of the assigned nursing department or unit and is accountable to the PSJH chief nursing executive and AMN chief clinical officer. 
 
Requirements 

  •  Experience in one of more of the following: emergency, urgent care, adult ICU, and critical care settings 
  •  Graduate of an RN program—BSN degree preferred 
  • RN experience and active, current, unrestricted CA license  
  • National certification in specialty area preferred 
  • CPI training preferred 
  •  BLS/CPR certification (issued by the American Heart Association) 
  •  ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, TNCC, MOAB, CPI certifications (may vary by specialty)
