External Description:
The hemodialysis registered nurse (RN) is proficient in providing hemodialysis therapies to patients with chronic renal failure. The hemodialysis RN works under the general supervision of the Department Director. The RN utilizes the nursing process to plan and deliver quality nursing care to assigned patients. The RN utilizes critical thinking to ensure the patients safety, comfort and well-being. The RN delegates care appropriately according to nursing practice standards. The RN participates in the orientation of new employees.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Current Medical/surgical, ICU, CCU, or ER experience preferred. Dialysis nursing experience strongly preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current and valid Registered Nurse license in State of Nebraska upon hire. American Heart Association's BLS for Healthcare Providers required upon hire. ACLS required; must complete earliest available course offered.
