External Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) works under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and the indirect supervision of the Department Director. The RN utilizes the nursing process to plan and deliver quality nursing care to assigned patients. The RN utilizes critical thinking to plan and select appropriate interventions for patient care that result in the desired patient outcomes. The RN directs and accepts the responsibility for immediate supervision of assistive personnel. The RN delegates care appropriately according to nursing practice standards. The RN participates in the orientation of new employees.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE: None required; some experience necessary for specific specialty areas.
LICENSURE: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska without restrictions.
CERTIFICATIONS: American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers required upon hire. ACLS required; must be obtained within one year of hire. TNCC required; must be obtained within one year of hire. ENPC required; must be obtained within one year of hire. PALS required; must be obtained within one year of hire. NRP required; must be obtained within one year of hire. CPI required; must be obtained within one year of hire.
