External Description:
48 bed progressive care unit mostly medical rather than surgical patients with high acuity and a balance of step down ICU patients. The RN in the PCU is responsible for managing and providing care for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment. PCU RN's monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and detect any changes, thereby enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.
Night shift with an every other weekend requirement; 3 - 12 hour shifts per week; patient ratio 3:1 or 4:1 based off acuity
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required preferably in ICU step down, ICU from a smaller hospital, med/surg and telemetry base foundation preferred
Magnet Status designated
Level 1 Trauma Center
Academic teaching hospital
BSN required or be enrolled in an accredited BSN program in order to be hired
Associates degree from an accredited nursing program
OH State RN licensure required
